June 2012 – The Beekeepers Calendar

→ Remove mite treatments and antibiotics (see labels).

→ Add supers to hives as needed.

→ Manage for swarm prevention via equalizing hives, making splits/ nucs or Demaree method.

→ This is the time of year to register your bee hives with our state apiarist.

→ Sign up for the Cumberland County Beekeepers “How to Make Summer Nucs – Hands-on Workshop” on Saturday June 16, 2012. Participants will learn the fundamentals of making their own summer nucs as well as receive instruction on preparing the new colonies for wintering.
