Calendar of Events

Meetings are held at 6pm on the 2nd Tuesday of every month

at the Somerset County Cooperative Extension;
7 County Drive – on the Norridgewock Rd in Skowhegan.

Typically these are informal gatherings with the refreshments table being pot-luck, so join us for some bee-conversation and bring a snack to share!

Fundraising event for the St. Albans grange, whose organization hopes to raise money to sponsor community agricultural education programs there.  Somerset Beekeepers hosted a booth providing information about beekeeping and pollinator conservation, even an observation hive.

Frank Drummond, Professor of Insect Ecology and Entomology at the University of Maine at Orono, will be joining us for our monthly meeting to talk about CCD and its Effects on Native Bee Populations.  Beekeepers from across the state are invited to join us, as are UME’s Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners.

Somerset Beekeepers to host a booth at the Skowhegan Farmer’s Market; 9am – 1pm.  “Gardening for Pollinators” display and educational outreach by group President and Master Gardener, Sam(antha) Burns, as well as fund-raising raffle for Bob Pomelow’s skep-shaped iced tea maker & dispenser.  Local artist and beekeeper Lynne Harwood to sell bee-cards.
