November 16th Beekeeping Symposium in Hampden

Register by tomorrow to get lunch included!

Penobscot County Beekeepers Association will be hosting a daylong Beekeeping Symposium on Saturday, November 16th, 2019 at the (new) Hampden Academy. This event will feature two great speakers:
Ian Steppler from Manitoba, Canada has a large commercial operation that focuses on honey production and sustainable management, and has a Youtube channel about managing bees in his cold weather climate; and Tucka Saville from northern New York, who manages her own self-sustaining, treatment free operation and breeds Northern Queens. She also works for Michael Palmer of French Hill Apiaries in Vermont and helps with his breeding program.

This event will be held at Hampden Academy located at 89 Western Avenue in Hampden, beginning at 10 am. Cost is $25 per person which includes lunch if registered by Tuesday November 5th.

Click here for a link to register.

Registration will also be available at the door beginning at 9 am for the same price, but lunch will not be included. There are several local restaurants that you can visit for lunch. We will only be accepting cash or check for registration on the day of the event.

After lunch we are planning on providing a brief opportunity for club introductions. We would appreciate it if each club attending could choose a representative to give an introduction and talk about what is going on in your area, issues that you are facing, etc.

If you have any questions, you may contact board member Jason Peters 735-5780, or club president Peter Cowin 299-6948, or send an email to the club @
